Hi, this will be the first time in Ireland for my family of four (kids are 12 and 8)! We're planning a 12-day trip and could really use some advice on how to make the most of it. We're interested in a mix of cultural experiences, nature, and activities that are kid-friendly. Any recommendations on must-see places, hidden gems, or tips for traveling with kids in Ireland would be greatly appreciated. Also, how should we balance our time between cities and the countryside? For a family-friendly 12-day trip to Ireland, I’d recommend starting in Dublin for a couple of days to explore its rich history and kid-friendly attractions like Dublin Zoo. Then, head to the countryside for a mix of cultural and nature experiences. The Cliffs of Moher and the Burren are must-sees, and kids will love the interactive exhibits at Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. Don’t miss the Ring of Kerry for stunning scenery and family-friendly hikes. Balancing your time with 3-4 days in cities and the rest in the countryside should give you a well-rounded experience. Have you thought about including a day or two in Galway? It’s vibrant and has plenty of activities for kids.
