I recently spent a week in Madrid in January and, honestly, it was a revelation. I'm not usually a big city person and my experience in Barcelona (except for the Gaudí parts) didn't win me over, so I was skeptical about Madrid. But, I ended up loving it. It felt like the perfect winter slow travel destination with so much to do and see, much of it free at least once a week, if not always. The city center is packed with activities, and the Retiro Park, along with other green areas, offered the nature connection I crave. Has anyone else experienced Madrid in winter? I'm curious to hear if others found it as unexpectedly delightful as I did.
