Question Advantages of Buying Turn Up & Go Ferry Tickets Early?

We're planning to take the Calmac ferry from Kilchoan to Tobermory on Sunday, May 18. We're considering purchasing the Turn Up & Go tickets in advance but wondering if there are real benefits to doing so. Does booking early guarantee a spot, or is it just as flexible as buying on the day? Also, are there any discounts or perks for early birds? Would love to hear from anyone who's used this option before.
