Advice Always Ask to Be Charged in Euros in Italy

I've been traveling through Italy and one thing I've learned is to always ask merchants to charge me in euros instead of my home currency. I almost got hit with a poor exchange rate the other day! It's so easy to forget, especially when you're in a rush. Have others had similar experiences? Any tips on avoiding extra fees or getting the best rates while traveling in Europe would be great to hear!

That's a great tip! Asking to be charged in euros can definitely save you from sneaky conversion fees. I've also found that using a travel credit card with no foreign transaction fees is a game changer. Additionally, always keep an eye on the daily exchange rates before you travel. It helps in negotiating or knowing what a fair price should be. Have you considered using any specific apps to track your spending while abroad?
