I'm planning a hiking/walking adventure in Scotland and I'm on the hunt for the perfect base town. Ideally, I want somewhere with great access to trails, local amenities, and maybe a bit of charm. Any suggestions? I've heard about places like Fort William and Pitlochry, but I'm curious if there are any hidden gems or personal favorites out there. What towns have you stayed in that made your hiking experience special?
