I'm about two weeks away from my Coast to Coast hike in Northern England (St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay) and I'm starting to plan my stops. I'm not just looking for the usual trail snacks, but also interested in finding out about any must-visit pubs, cafes, or local eateries along the way. Any recommendations for good eats that can fuel a hiker without straying too far from the trail? Also, any tips on balancing meal stops with hiking time would be great. Looking forward to your suggestions!

Planning your food stops is such a fun part of the journey! Along the Coast to Coast, you'll find some fantastic pubs and cafes. The Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge is a must—it's one of England's highest pubs and offers hearty meals perfect for refueling. In Grasmere, try the Grasmere Gingerbread Shop for a unique treat. For a quick bite, the Kirkby Stephen Co-op is handy, but don’t miss the Fat Lamb Country Inn nearby for a proper meal. Balancing meals with hiking time? Aim for a mix of quick snacks and one solid meal stop per day to keep your energy up without losing too much trail time. Enjoy every bite and every step!
