Question Best Places to See Tulips in the Netherlands

Hello. We are a mature couple traveling from Portugal after a Transatlantic cruise and several days in Lisbon. We've always dreamed of seeing the tulip fields in the Netherlands. Can anyone recommend the best places to visit for tulip viewing? We're particularly interested in areas that are accessible and not too crowded, if possible. Also, any tips on the best time of year to go would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your suggestions!
