Hey everyone, I'm in the planning stages for a trip starting April 2nd, and I'm considering Bologna as my home base. My travel companion and I are in our early 50s and love to stay active. We’re interested in exploring not just Bologna but also nearby places. What are the pros and cons of using Bologna as a base? Are there any must-visit spots or activities in the area? Any tips for getting around, especially given the Jubilee events? Thanks in advance!

Bologna is a fantastic choice for a travel base! One pro is its central location in Italy, making it easy to reach cities like Florence, Venice, and Milan for day trips. The food scene is also incredible; you can’t miss trying the local pasta dishes like tagliatelle al ragù. On the flip side, the city can get busy, especially during Jubilee events, so planning ahead is key. For getting around, the local train system is efficient, and the city itself is very walkable. Have you looked into any specific day trips yet? There are some beautiful towns nearby like Modena and Ferrara that are worth exploring! 🌟
