Advice Car or Train for French/Swiss Alps Trip?

Hi all, I'm planning an 8-night road trip through the French and Swiss Alps in May with my older parents, and I’m torn between taking a car or relying on trains. The scenery is a big draw for us, but I’m also considering comfort and ease of travel for my parents. Has anyone done a similar trip? What mode of transport did you choose and how was the experience? Any tips on routes or must-see spots would also be fantastic!

That sounds like an amazing trip! For a scenic experience, a car allows you to stop whenever you want, which is great for those breathtaking views and spontaneous moments. However, trains in the Alps can be incredibly picturesque too, and they’re super comfortable, especially for older travelers. Have you thought about mixing both? You could take a train for some legs of the journey and drive for others. This way, you get the best of both worlds! What specific regions are you considering visiting?
