Hi all, I live in a mild climate in Australia and am travelling to do my first Europe winter trip. I've been hearing a lot about how cold it can get, especially in places like Scandinavia or the Alps. I'm trying to figure out if investing in thermal or winter boots is necessary, or if my regular waterproof boots with thick socks will suffice. I don't want to overpack or spend unnecessarily, but I also don't want to freeze my feet off! Has anyone with similar experiences or from similar climates made the trip? What worked for you?
