Question Do We Need Guides for Croatia Tours?

We're traveling with a large group along the Dalmatian Coast and planning to stop at various islands. I'm wondering if hiring local guides is necessary or if we can manage on our own. What has been your experience with guided tours in Croatia versus exploring independently? Are there specific places where a guide is more beneficial? Any insights would be really helpful!

Exploring Croatia's Dalmatian Coast can be incredibly rewarding both with and without guides. For a large group, having a local guide in historic cities like Dubrovnik or Split can provide deeper insights into the rich history and culture, which might be harder to appreciate on your own. However, for the islands, you might enjoy the freedom of exploring at your own pace. Places like Hvar and Korčula are quite navigable and offer plenty of opportunities for spontaneous adventures. Have you considered a mix of both approaches?
