We're planning a road trip starting from Budapest, passing through Eger, then heading to Kosice and exploring more of Slovakia. I'm curious about the best routes, any must-see stops along the way, and if there are specific things we should be aware of when driving between these two countries. Also, any recommendations for hidden gems or local eats would be amazing. Has anyone done a similar trip and can share their experiences?

That sounds like a fantastic road trip! From Budapest, Eger is a great first stop—don’t miss the historic castle and the Valley of the Beautiful Women for some excellent local wines. When crossing into Slovakia, the route through the Slovak Karst National Park is stunning, with caves and hiking trails worth exploring. For a hidden gem, consider stopping in Levoča, a charming medieval town with a rich history. As for local eats, try bryndzové halušky (potato dumplings with sheep cheese) in Slovakia—it’s a must! Safe travels and enjoy the journey!
