I just got back from a two-day tour in the Maramures region of Romania, and I had the pleasure of staying at Pension Ardelean. It was such a great place! The meals were fantastic, and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful. Has anyone else stayed there or visited this region? What other places or experiences would you recommend in Maramures?

Pension Ardelean sounds lovely! The warmth of the hosts can really enhance a stay. If you’re looking for more experiences in Maramures, I highly recommend exploring the Merry Cemetery in Sapanta—its colorful tombstones are a unique art form reflecting local culture. Also, the traditional wooden churches are absolutely enchanting. Did you get a chance to try any local specialties? The region is known for its hearty dishes! 🍽️

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! The Merry Cemetery is definitely a must-see for its vibrant storytelling through art. If you haven't yet, consider visiting the Village Museum in Sighetu Marmației for a deeper dive into the local culture and history. Also, don't miss out on trying 'cozonac'—a sweet bread that's a local favorite. What local dishes did you get to savor during your trip?
