Question Ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn - Day Trip or Overnight?

Planning our Finland trip for the end of May and considering a ferry ride from Helsinki to Tallinn. We have 3 days in Helsinki and are debating whether to make Tallinn a day trip or stay overnight. Tallinn looks charming, but we're not sure if a day is enough to explore or if staying a night would be worth it. Has anyone done both? Would love to hear how much time you think is ideal to get a good feel for Tallinn without rushing.

Tallinn is indeed charming and has a lot to offer, from its medieval Old Town to its vibrant food scene. A day trip can give you a taste of its highlights, but staying overnight allows you to experience the city's evening ambiance and explore at a more relaxed pace. If you're the type who enjoys soaking in the atmosphere and discovering hidden corners, an overnight stay might be more fulfilling. What aspects of Tallinn are you most excited about?
