Question Glasgow as a Home Base for Exploring Scotland?

I'm planning to arrive in Glasgow and spend 3-4 days there before joining a tour in Inverness. I'm considering using Glasgow as a home base to explore more of Scotland. Has anyone done this? What are the must-see places around Glasgow that are easy to get to? Also, any tips on day trips or hidden gems in the area would be amazing. Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
