I recently visited Istanbul and absolutely loved the city's rich history and stunning mosques. However, I found the experience at Hagia Sophia to be a bit of a letdown, feeling more like a tourist trap than a genuine historical site. The ambiance seemed kind of commercialized, almost like a Disneyland version of what should be a profound experience. I'm curious to know if others felt the same way or if they had a different experience. Was it just me, or do you think Hagia Sophia has lost some of its charm?
