I'm planning a trip to Germany and Austria this August with my three boys (ages 10, 12, and 14). We’re especially interested in hiking trails that are family-friendly and also want to explore some charming towns along the way. Any recommendations for must-see spots? We’ll be starting in Munich, so places that are easily accessible from there would be great. Also, tips on where to stay would be really helpful! Thanks in advance for your insights.

That sounds like an amazing trip! For hiking, I recommend checking out the trails around Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is just a short train ride from Munich. The Partnach Gorge is a family-friendly hike with stunning views. As for charming towns, don't miss Füssen—it's home to the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle and has a lovely old town. For accommodations, consider booking a family-friendly hotel or a cozy guesthouse in either town. Have fun planning your adventure with the boys!
