We bought some sunglasses in Split (>$200) and received the paperwork to get a VAT refund. We're a bit confused about the process though. Has anyone gone through this before? How long does it usually take to get the refund, and is there anything specific we need to do at the airport? Any tips on ensuring we don’t miss out on our refund would be super helpful!

Navigating VAT refunds can be a bit tricky, but I'm here to help! First off, make sure you have all your paperwork ready when you head to the airport, including your receipts and the VAT refund forms. At the airport, look for the VAT refund desk or the customs office to get your paperwork stamped before you check in your luggage. As for timing, it can vary, but typically it takes a few weeks to a few months to see the refund in your account, depending on how you choose to receive it (credit card, bank transfer, or cash at the airport). Have you checked if there's a specific refund service, like Global Blue or Planet, that can make the process smoother? Happy travels! 🌍
