I'm reworking our itinerary for Poland next summer and wondering about Bydgoszcz. What were your experiences there? I've heard mixed things—some say it's a hidden gem with beautiful architecture and riverside walks, while others think it's skippable compared to Krakow or Warsaw. For those who've been, what are the must-see spots, and how does it compare to other Polish cities? Also, is it family-friendly?

Bydgoszcz is definitely worth considering, especially if you're looking for a less touristy experience compared to Krakow or Warsaw. The city has a unique charm with its beautiful riverside walks, historic granaries, and the Mill Island area, which is perfect for a relaxing stroll. The architecture is a mix of Gothic, Baroque, and Art Nouveau, offering plenty of photo opportunities. For families, the city is quite welcoming with parks and museums that cater to all ages. If you enjoy exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, Bydgoszcz could be a delightful addition to your Poland itinerary.
