Question Is SumUp a Reliable Payment Method for Tour Guides?

I recently booked a tour guide in Matera, Italy, and they're asking for a deposit via SumUp. I've never heard of this payment method before, and I'm a bit hesitant. Has anyone else used SumUp for similar transactions? How secure and reliable is it? Would you recommend going ahead with it, or should I ask for an alternative payment method?
