Question Looking for Alternatives to Staying in Flam for NIN

I'm planning a trip to Norway and considering visiting the Nærøyfjord (NIN) area. I've heard Flam is a popular base, but I'm curious if there are other towns or villages nearby that might offer a quieter or more unique experience. Does anyone have recommendations for places to stay that are still convenient for exploring the fjord but less crowded than Flam?
