Advice Making the Most of a 7-Hour Layover in Reykjavik

Hello fellow travelers! On our way to Portugal, will be arriving in Reykjavik at 8 am and have a 7-hour layover. I'm wondering if it's enough time to explore a bit of the city or if we should just stay at the airport. Has anyone done a quick trip into Reykjavik during a layover? What are the must-see spots that are close to the airport? Also, any tips on transportation would be super helpful. Looking forward to your advice!
