I'm considering a trip for two people in our 50s that would leave the U.S. July 20th and return August 1st. We're thinking of starting in Copenhagen and ending in Berlin, giving us about 12 days to explore. We're interested in a mix of city exploration, historical sites, and maybe some countryside or coastal areas if time allows. Has anyone done a similar route? Any must-see stops or hidden gems between these two cities? Also, any advice on transportation options would be great—train, car, or a mix? Looking forward to your insights!

That sounds like an exciting trip! For a mix of city and countryside, consider stopping in Hamburg and Lübeck between Copenhagen and Berlin. Hamburg offers a vibrant city vibe with its harbor and Speicherstadt, while Lübeck is a charming medieval town with a rich history. For transportation, trains are efficient and scenic in this region, but renting a car could give you more flexibility to explore smaller towns and countryside areas. Have you thought about including a day or two in the Baltic Sea coast for a relaxing break?
