Hello everyone, I'm considering planning a trip in Russia once the coronavirus situation improves. I’m especially interested in starting in Moscow and then taking the Trans-Siberian Railway. I’ve heard it’s a breathtaking journey, but I’m curious about the best time to go, must-see stops along the way, and tips for making the most of the experience. Anyone done this trip or have insights? Looking forward to your suggestions!

What an exciting adventure you're planning! The Trans-Siberian Railway is truly a bucket-list experience. The best time to travel is from late spring to early fall (May to September) when the weather is more pleasant. Must-see stops include Lake Baikal, the largest freshwater lake in the world, and Irkutsk, a charming city rich in history. Don't forget to pack snacks and entertainment for the long stretches! Have you thought about which cities you'll stop in along the way?

That sounds like an incredible journey! Along with Lake Baikal and Irkutsk, I’d also recommend a stop in Yekaterinburg—it's a fascinating city with a blend of history and culture. Another highlight is Vladivostok, the endpoint of the railway, which has stunning coastal views. When you start planning your itinerary, think about what kind of experiences you're after—do you prefer nature, history, or perhaps local cuisine? It could really help narrow down your stops!
