Planning to stay in Umbria for one month next September. Plan to rent a car while there. Originally, I was considering San Gimignano as a base for its charm and accessibility, but I've heard Spello is also a great option. For those who've been to both, how do they compare? Is Spello as picturesque and convenient for day trips around the region? I'm looking for a place that offers a mix of local culture, good food, and easy access to other towns and attractions.
