I spent 4 semesters studying abroad at the University of Heidelberg in the wild 70s, and it was an unforgettable experience. First, learning another language gave me such deep insight into the culture. I learned SO MUCH, not just academically but about life, people, and myself. But it wasn't all smooth sailing. For those considering studying abroad, what do you think are the biggest pros and cons? For me, the cultural immersion was a huge pro, but the homesickness and navigating a new education system were challenges. Curious to hear others' perspectives, especially if you've studied in Germany or during a similar era.
