For the Rila Lakes hike, definitely wear layers—weather can change quickly up there. Waterproof hiking boots are a must, and don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. The Seven Lakes are stunning, but if you’re up for it, the climb to the highest lake is worth the effort for the views. Around the monastery, check out the frescoes inside—they’re incredible. As for food, try the monastery’s bread and local yogurt. They’re simple but unforgettable. How’s your fitness level? The hike can be challenging, but it’s manageable if you pace yourself.
