I booked a United marketed, ANA operated flight, and I'm facing some baggage allowance issues. I requested United to change the UA codeshare number to a native ANA flight number for an upgrade using ANA miles, and they did it for the outbound leg only. Now I'm unsure about the baggage allowance for the return leg with the original UA flight number. Has anyone experienced this before? How does the baggage policy work in this situation? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Navigating baggage allowances can be tricky with codeshare flights. Generally, the baggage policy follows the marketing carrier, which in your case is United. So, for the return leg with the UA flight number, you'd typically adhere to United's baggage policy. However, since you’ve upgraded with ANA miles, it might be worth checking if any perks from that upgrade apply. Have you tried contacting ANA directly for clarification? They might provide specific insights based on your flight details.
