Will be in Paris next week. Tentatively planning on going to Versailles mid week depending on weather and other plans. I've heard mixed advice about the best time to visit - some say first thing in the morning to beat the crowds, others recommend late afternoon for the lighting and atmosphere. Has anyone experienced both? Which do you think offers a better experience, especially considering photo opportunities and crowd levels?
