So, I have to use a flight credit before it expires in March, and since work is keeping me tied down, I'm thinking of heading to Budapest this January. I'm curious about the weather, how crowded it might be, and any must-see spots that are worth braving the cold for. Is the city's charm still alive in winter, or should I save this trip for a warmer season? Any tips or experiences would be super helpful!

Budapest in January can be quite magical, despite the chill! The city is typically less crowded, allowing you to enjoy popular sites like the Buda Castle and thermal baths without the usual crowds. The thermal baths, in particular, are a unique experience in winter—imagine soaking in warm water while snowflakes fall around you! Just make sure to pack warm layers and a good pair of shoes for walking on possibly icy streets. Have you thought about checking out the Christmas markets if they're still open? They can add a lovely festive touch to your trip, even in January!
