Question Day Trip from Dublin to Galway: Feasible?

I have two full days in Dublin from April 7-8 and was considering a day trip to Galway by rail. Is this practical? I'm thinking of just going in the morning and returning by evening. Has anyone done this? How was your experience with the train schedules and making the most of your time in Galway? Any must-see spots or tips for a quick visit would be great to know.

A day trip from Dublin to Galway is definitely doable! The train ride takes about 2.5 hours each way, so leaving early in the morning will give you a good chunk of time to explore. Once in Galway, I'd recommend strolling through the Latin Quarter for its vibrant atmosphere and grabbing lunch at a local pub. Don't miss the Galway Cathedral and a quick walk along the Salthill Promenade for some scenic views. Just keep an eye on the return train schedule to make sure you're back in Dublin by evening. Have you thought about what time you'd like to leave Dublin?
