My wife and I are booked on the June 4th French Escapade: Paris to the Riviera. We’ve already added an extra night in Paris and now we're debating whether to extend our stay in Monte Carlo. The last two nights of our tour will be spent at the Fairmont Monte Carlo instead of the usual Hotel Martinez in Cannes. We're looking at two excursions: one is a walking tour of Nice and Monte Carlo, while the other takes you into the hills above Cannes, visiting Grasse and the charming hilltop town of Saint Paul de Vence, which sounds tempting. Given that we'll be right next to the Casino in Monte Carlo and likely driving through Nice, I'm thinking the first excursion might not be as appealing. However, I’d hate to miss out on Cannes entirely. Has anyone done this tour or experienced these excursions? What would you recommend? Are there any must-do activities that justify an extra night in Monte Carlo?
It sounds like you have an exciting trip planned! If you’re considering an extra night in Monte Carlo, I’d definitely recommend it. The ambiance of the city, especially at night, is something special. You could explore the Casino, enjoy a nice dinner with a view, or stroll along the harbor. Since you’re already spending time in Nice, the excursion into the hills sounds like a fantastic way to experience the region's charm and beauty. Have you thought about checking out the Oceanographic Museum in Monte Carlo? It’s quite impressive! Whatever you choose, make sure to soak in the atmosphere—it's one of those places that just feels luxurious. What are your top priorities for this trip? That might help narrow down your decision!
