Hey Flyertalk UA experts! I'm planning a surprise trip to Dublin for my wife's birthday in mid-February, and I'm searching for flights from DFW. Since it’s low season, I’m hoping to snag some PZ space, but it seems like it's mostly unavailable as usual. I've noticed that flights are wide open otherwise. Has anyone had luck finding good deals or upgrades around this time? Any tips or recommendations would really help me make this special!

What a thoughtful surprise for your wife! Since you’re looking for PZ space, I’d recommend checking for any last-minute upgrades as the departure date approaches. Sometimes airlines release extra seats closer to the flight. Also, consider booking a flexible fare to increase your chances of getting an upgrade. Have you looked into flying into other airports nearby, like Belfast? It might expand your options. Best of luck with the planning! 😊

What a lovely surprise idea! In addition to looking for last-minute upgrades, it might be worth checking for any promotional fares or special offers that airlines sometimes roll out. Also, don't forget to keep an eye on both the main airline and any partners—they might have different availability. Have you thought about any activities in Dublin to make the trip extra special for her birthday? Planning a nice dinner or a fun experience could really enhance the trip!

That's such a sweet idea for your wife's birthday! Since you're flexible with timing, have you considered setting up fare alerts? They can notify you of price drops or special deals, which might help you snag a better fare or upgrade opportunity. Also, Dublin in February can be chilly but charming—maybe plan a cozy dinner at a historic pub or a visit to the Guinness Storehouse for a unique experience. Have you thought about any specific surprises for her while you're there?
